He began his coaching career more than a decade ago, when he founded IDEAL Coaching and Consulting. However, he has been coaching people most of his life. Early on, he realized his ability in identifying root problems and challenges as he helped individuals and organizations push past the issues that have been holding them back to reach their full potential.
His previous career as a pastor in a small college town for thirteen years, gave him ample experience in creating positive results out of some of the most complicated scenarios such as organizational growth and expansion, establishing human resource policies and practices for a growing organization, leading the development of a strategic plan process, time management, and board leadership. He coached many on issues related to developing a disciplined workflow to achieve a commitment to a work-life balance within a complex environment. He soon became a trusted advisor to many in the community.
In reality, he was coaching. When he was ready to begin his next career chapter, he decided to use his experience to continue to serve leaders in a meaningful way. First, he formalized his training with a post-graduate degree in organizational leadership from Regent University, with a concentration in coaching and mentoring.
As he began to grow his business, he found his niche in organizational coaching, leadership development, and non-profit board development.
Terry will tell you that he has “… never met an organizational leader or leadership team who had a passion for doing things poorly. They genuinely want to do a great job by leading their teams and businesses to success in their respective industries. Nevertheless, what I experienced over and over were well-meaning leaders who are stuck, burnt out, or just at a loss with regards to their goals or processing the next steps for their businesses and organizations.”
This is where Terry comes in. He is passionate about helping you chart a new course with clear direction and purpose. Regardless of where you or your organization is today, he can help you accurately define your current reality, develop a plan of action forward, and walk with you to accomplish your dreams. He wants to be with his clients every step of the way, but we realize that this is not always possible, or practical.
